Research limitation

Hey friends, i have a ask.
How can control the AI and me, which research we do.

wanted. in research and multiplayer skirmish can only end up cam2.

Research limitation. which file must I change?

T1 mod; you need to do something similar.

look how a mod file look. It's contain all the same structure and it replace some files. (really simple)

the file that you will want to mod is in "warzone2100-2.3.7/data/mp/stats/research/multiplayer/research.txt"

in this file there is line like this one :

R-Sys-Sensor-WS,Level Three,0,0,IMAGE_RES_SYSTEMTECH,0,0,RES_SY_S_WST,0,Sensor-WideSpec,SENSOR,14400,1,5,0,0,0,0,0,1

This is the wide spectrum turret. And the "5"(the 14th param) in this list is the number of prerequisite that is needed to access it. I'm not 100% sure but if you increase that number, the chances are good that the research will never appear in the research list without affecting anything else.

So to achieve what you want, you have to pack the edited research.txt in a new mod in wich the 14 param of all "level three" is increased by one (or set to 8 or whatever).
Heretic 2.3 improver and proud of it.

Iluvalar: Thanks, i understand it now! Proof. I tried it before, but i don't know why i failed.
Still, I'm curious if it's possible to disable the initial techs (like R-Sys-Engineering01). This trick doesn't seem to work on them.

NoQ, look at the files in the multiplay folder of my crude spectator mod. These are the files you have to change to define the starting techs. CLEAN MAP is no bases, BASE MAP is obvious and DEFENSIVE MAP is advanced bases. In the spectator mod, I replaced the advanced bases starting tech with the no bases starting tech.
