[Solved] Probem modifying fx.png file causes white border

Post by REZ »

Hello,

I got a problem with modifying the existing page-23-fx.png file while using Photoshop (5.5).
When I do open this png-file, change something and save again it works okay.
When I do open the fxmflare.pie file with "wmit"and apply the *.png files, the original and the modified file do look okay (no white border).
When I do start a new file at Photoshop with a transparent backround, copy in the orginal page-23-fx.png file as a new layer, modify it, combine all layers and export a transparent *.png file, the result shows at "wmit" a white border.
Please do take a look at the compare.jpg . The left side is okay, the right with the white border.

What can I do to prevent this from happening?

I do look forwar to a greyscale version of the page-23-fx.png file to do further clour-modifications with Photoshop.

The greyscale version I can produce with PS, but the png-file is saved as a *.psd file and after exporting the white border is added
Is there any greyscale-version of the png-effect-files around or downloadeable, that doesn't cause the problem with the white border?

Have a great day,

C.U. R.E.Z.

Looks like it's dropping out colors as well. Something amiss with the palette methinks.

Try changing the colour in the transparent parts to black/whatever the surroundings are, and take care that those colours are actually saved.

Come to think of it, I recall someone else with photoshop having this issue, and it seems to be a bug in that program, since they never could figure out why it did that.
Use Gimp instead, it is free.

GIMP is a great app. Desktop Environments have been derived from it. :3
