Art Revolution mod. Latest release: January, 2015

Post by Jorzi »

Edit: Jan 2015 release is now out :)

What is Art Revolution?
The art revolution project aims to remake all the graphics of warzone, in high definition, while being as true as possible to the original style.
The new models feature more details, higher resolution individual textures and normal&specular mapped goodness 8) .

How far have we come?
Currently we have remade almost all weapons, bodies and propulsions from the first (alpha) campaign, as well as some buildings and scavs. Some models still lack normal maps because warzone doesn't support tangent space normal mapping yet. Also, models like cyborgs are not remade because of the complexity of the current animation system.
We plan on transitioning to the wzm model format as soon as the wzm branch is merged into trunk.

To everyone who is playing skirmish or campaign and has a machine capable of running the 3.1 version:
I see no reason why you should not try this mod ;)

Also, if you experience slowdowns you might need to disable shadows.

When using this mod, I can save my skirmish matches but load them again without the mod only: a message occures which tells me that the mod can not be loaded for some reason. O.o

Are you sure there is no *other* mod loaded? There is a bug that prevents games with multiple mods from being loaded.

Oh, ehm, you are right, I had the NullBot mod active also. BTW, what is that NullBot that has been fitted directly into Warzone? I personally prefer to put in the NullBot mod manually to be sure to get the latest version. :)

looks very good, but do you know when this wzm model format will be out for a release? are we talking about 3.1 or 3.2 or later than that?

Did you use this build of WMIT? It's the latest.

I'm afraid you'll have to add the textures manually.
Note: object space normal maps do not display properly in blender's realtime preview (they render properly though)
