I'll need to reupload my tracks as MU got... erm... closed. Any suggestions for a free file hoster that doesn't delete files due to inactivity having a free account? Otherwise I'll start looking for one and refresh the links in my first post.

BTW the MP3 versions can be downloaded from my ReverbNation site. ;)

Be wary of using NC in Warzone as some linux distros will not allow content that does not conform to the GPL which NC (non commercial) violates. So music licensed under NC will have to be a separate release in such cases.

I don't know if it's already included yet, but the "Premier Collection" release of Warzone in Germany back in 2000 had some extra music IIRC. I found versions of the audio in sourceforge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/warzone ... n%20Music/

That are just the "source" flacs of the music we include already (menu.ogg, track1.ogg and track2.ogg), the Playstation track is track3.ogg.
We want information... information... information.

Schould I change the license to be CC-BY-SA or does it definately have to be GPL? I'm willing to release the music to whatever license is needed. ;)

That I don't know. Here is what the openSUSE people told use about one of the vega strike files.
OpenSUSE's legal team found out a weird license tag in our Sol system file. It turns out the guy who contributed it did so under a noncommercial license. Many people don't know this, but noncommercial licenses aren't compatible with the GPL, and we want our data to be GPL... *snip*

...I'd like to point out, that this is a rather important matter. Without a clear license situation (ie: all data being GPL or some other FOSS license), the game won't get into Factory (ie: it won't be part of openSUSE). I'd expect Fedora to have the same concerns, they must just have missed the file.
You may want to check and see if CC-BY-SA is compatible with the GPL. As stated though, it would only mean that anything released as non-commercial would just have to be a separate download rather than bundled in with the package from a particular distro. If you can live with it, CC-BY-SA 3.0 would probably be the best way to go. That choice though, is up to you.

hey guys, noticed this thread

The music I composed a few years ago is still totally available, if folks like it! :)

Here's the link to the jamendo album: http://www.jamendo.com/en/list/a38736/w ... soundtrack

I don't know if the new jamendo still has the option to download oggs --- if not I'll happily provide ogg & flac versions :)

cheers,
