(Ingame Music) Pouso-G - Warzone Desolation

Post by Powzone »

I've been up all night, so please don't look to much for mistakes... :P

I made an ingame track for WZ based on the first 3 chords of the original ingame track. With "BASED" I don't mean sampled! My name is not Timbaland... :D

Features included:

ATARI ST Blips
Commodore C64 Bass Line
Commodore C64 NEXUS Speech (It's Nexus alpha 1... :D )
Sinclair ZX Spectrum Drums
and of course... some Piano Sounds...

There is a .MP3 Version on my site for everybody to enjoy.

Get the .OGG to use in the game here:
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3074&p=34984#p34984

GPL v2 goes for this one! Feel free to put it in the next setup, if you like it.

Some feedback would be nice...

A really nice track indeed, I like the feel of it!

Did you use Reason for that??

This is what I used:

FL Studio XXL 7.0 for arrangement
- FL Keys for piano
- FPC twice for the Beats. Standard and ZX Spectrum.
- Sytrus for the Strings

External plug ins:
- ymVST for the ATARI ST bleeps
- reFX QuadraSID for the C64 bassline

Even more external:
- WinVICE 2.0 C64 Emulator running S.A.M. for the voice samples
- No23 Recorder to record the voice samples

I think I didn't forget anything. :)

Why don't you go trolling and playing wannabe lawyer on your own boards?

Very good music!

I can upload the .FLP and the voice samples if you want or send it to you. But if you don't got the ymVST (Freeware BTW) and the reFX QuadraSID (Commercial) it yon't work for you. In most cases people don't have these, that's why I didn't upload them.

Just to mention that...

EDIT:

WARNING:
Don't listen to this in your car if you got a good sub in the trunk! The bass will blow your head off! :D

I didn't know you could type so well with your nose without your highly defined brow-ridge pressing 25 keys all at once. I must say, I'm impressed. O_o

I assumed that by releasing it under "GPL v 2.0" you'd be willing to release the project files as well. Yes, I would be interested in seeing them :D I'm mostly curious to see how you integrated all the devices together since I've never done that before (all my compositions are pure FLStudio or Reason). I'd like to use Reason as a VST Plugin for FLStudio, if possible :ninja:

At any rate, upload it how you'd like and send a link over :) You don't need to worry about all the other stuff, a .flp is fine :)

As for my impression of the track -- as I've said before, anyone who can master the piano in a composition is musically-adept in my book :) The best compliment that I can give is that I've added the track to my music library xD

Thanks for the replies! :D

I tried to keep the piano as simple as possible. I had a weird and mad mellow first, but it didn't fit in this 80BPM track... :D

Here's the "source":
FL Studio .FLP including "NEXUS alpha 1" voice samples and the ZX Spectrum drums:
Warzone Desolation Source.zip
(316.18 KiB) Downloaded 986 times
ymVST can be downloaded here:
http://preromanbritain.com/ymvst/index.html

The reFX QuadraSID is a commercial plug in, I can't put it in here. Simply copy the folder "WZ-D Samples" into the folder where the FL browser is accessing. It should work then.

For the curious people:
Get the VICE C64 emulator here:
http://www.viceteam.org

Here is SAM to use with WinVICE including a little guide I just wrote:
SAM.zip
(15.58 KiB) Downloaded 493 times
Have fun with it! ;)

Greeaat! :)
And nicely arranged. Brings some feeling with it.

(Note: I always thought Nexus had a deeper voice. ;) )

Nice work!

How about trying to make some 'main menu' or 'lobby' music ?
Perhaps a variation of the jeopardy theme song for the lobby? ;) O_O O_o

heh :D

I'm working on it right now! It sounds strange to me... I don't know if it's worth to upload it later... :D
