It's a base for two turrets. 94 tris and a 256x256 map.

edit: I decided I will use this thread for all my models so I changed the topic.. New models and screenshots will be added to the end of the thread.

I think it looks very nice!

what i think would look awesome is either a small human-sized blast door on the side, or a ladder to the top in the middle with a hatch, both of which could be accomplished just with texturing :)

or perhaps at the expense of a few more polys (4 simple, 6 to look good) you could have that door go into the ground a little bit (using negative y coords), but if this struct would get rendered with the typical warzone "conform to the terrain" method for defensive structs, then it'd probably look pretty bad.

Note that Per has been working on this lately. I believe one of his possible solutions was continuing buildingmodels into the ground so that we wouldn't have to stretch them anymore

Thats nice... but why are two turrets supposed to be attached togheter?

I have no idea what you're talking about.

I think he is saying, "why did you create a structure with 2 turrets on?" And there could be a number of reasons.
-1 building with 2 weapons on top is stronger than 2 buildings with 1 weapon on each.
-easier for operation and maintenance.( a single team could operate and maintain both weapons)
-single hardpoints are not often used in warzone anyway. (always lines)
-it looks scary => frightened enemy !!!
-...

in game advantages:
-more hitpoints than a standard hardpoint.
-truck can repare 2 weapons at once
-looks pretty :)

Very nice work.

As Hatsjoe's already stated there could be many reasons, although id say the most advantageous would be having a variety of different weapons allowing the structure to deal with different threats while most likely conserving build space and time.

So you should make a mod for double turret weapons first...

A multiturret defense would add a lot to the tactics.
It would also help managing defenses better.

Support for multi-turret units and structures was added to the development trunk some time ago, im unsure whether there are any mods that make use of the feature.

I thought that was only for multi-turret units

Looks nice, but I can see one issue with hardpoints with 2 weapons: they are not symmetric. We will either have to add 2 different models or implement a way to rotate a hardpoint (third possibility is to ignore this issue).

Multi-turret structures are not yet totally supported, with the AI for them remaining to be written. It may or may not make 2.1.

It seems more of a 2.2 feature (which is going to be mainly targeted at making the game more mod-able).

Troman: I am not sure what you are saying. We can rotate each weapon turret individually, surely?

EvilGuru: There is some work remaining on multi-structure turrets, but basic weaponry already works.

BTW, here is a picture of the thing in the game, just for kicks:

Sorry, I did not try to any weapons on it yet.
