A New Defenisve Low Oil Map

My goal here was to make the most defensive map possible.

I call it "horseshoes" because the bases look like horseshoes.

It features platforms that are perfect for launching artillery and rockets and little else.

Although well fortified with naturally occurring walls, the platforms have specially designed sensor tower outcroppings.

The Key to victory is controlling the 5 platforms around the map.

I enjoyed this map in a 3V1 Skirmish against Nullbot on hard difficulty.

Advanced bases are also included.

I hope some of you will give it a try on 2v1 or 3 v1 against the AI.

Nice job. I really enjoyed Horseshoes. Good to see some clever concepts for sensor placement, and lots of fun for the "artillery specialist".

Hey Guys,
Below is my second attempt at map making. This map is called Megachoke because it uses choke points to the extreme. Designed with 2v1 and 3v1 in mind, but supports all combinations.

Hi Folks,
Looks like I'm back in the map making game for a bit. This is my first map based off an imported height map.

This one is called "Hourglass".
My goal here was to make map that could be challenging in a 1v1 battle against Nullbot.
The challenge here is to play against Nullbot Insane difficulty and start with no bases.
The enemy defense structures will prevent you from leaving your base right away, this will force you to turtle while giving the AI safe access to more oil.
Although trapped within your base, you will be able to hinder enemy progress significantly with proper placing of defensive structures.

Hmm. I will try Hourglass. Looks good. Nice idea. Long way to the enemy, but possible attacks from above with mortars.
I will tell you my impressions. Good job anyway. Thx

Hi Folks,
This is by far my most elaborate and detailed map to date.
I spent most of the weekend designing, testing and tuning this map, and I couldn't be happier with it.
It is specifically tuned to play against 1v1 Hover AI Insane w/no bases & No Satellite.
With these settings it plays like a series of escalating challenges.

It is very low oil on purpose, because I wanted every oil to feel like a reward and every research and build choice to matter.
There is a fair amount of booster oil in the base to offset only having two 2 starting derricks and you have to defeat the challenges to acquire additional oil.

This is not low oil, it's NO OIL.
I tried to play this in 3 different versions, namely 3.1.1, 3.1.5 and 3.2.1, and there is NO OIL, no Power Resource to build a Derrick onto, just 3 or 4 of those 100 points oil drums and a whole lot of waste land......

Maybe jman5000now wanted to take low oil to a whole new level.

However there is something wrong with the hourglass map download. The author must have accidentally uploaded an old version of the map (as the map preview posted would suggest).
