You know... I think all this like: open source, ogg, sdl - must be only in readme.txt (If I'm a noob (for exemple) I dont wat to know what is that "dl" "al" & so on..)

What about eidos & pumpkin.....I think it must be on the pic, basicly its "fathers" of warzone anyway. If talking about wz2100.net logo so its doesnt exist for today. But the link(wz2100.net) I'll put as main feature in next release.

& as Kreuvf.... I'm not sure what to do next too. Woudl I  left old theme or remake it with all new things(delete the "history")

Eidos was like the father that abandoned the mother(pumkin) and the child (warzone) First he just screwed around with her and then he ran of without saying a single word. what they did to warzone was awfull. And i'm not even talking about the pets.

I agree, I don't like the idea of spamming logos of a hundred-and-one organisations all over a credits page.

Well as for Eidos AFAIK know they were only the publisher, meaning they handle the financial stuff, but don't really develop anything about it. So I hardly would call Eidos a "father" of Warzone.

And as for pumpkin studios: the fact that you created something/someone hardly gives you the right to brandmark it.
As an analogy: if someone would get a child and become father/mother I don't think that fact gives him/her the right to somehow tag/mark that child as "son/daughter of ....".

As far as i know, the only reason we're all here together is warzone. We should at least give some credit to the original designers of this fantastic game.

"open source TM"... ;)
Never saw that site before. To me FOSS was always connected to the FSF. (Image)

What brings me to the idea of some thing like:

Code: Select all

      Warzone 2100
- Free as in Freedom -

I thought there was a well known open source logo or something, but it appears almost no one knows of it. But i kinda like your idea better. People should know that it's an open source project. This way we could also attract people that are possibly interested in helping.

I believe they registered that logo as a trademark to use it as an approval logo.

Same for me, but that leads us to the distinction between "open source software" and "free software". A distinction some people find difficult to make, but is a very important distinction.

By the way if you look at the "open source definition" you'll find that this is to some degree fairly similar to the free software foundation's ideas about freedom. There is however one significant and substantial difference; the FSF promotes protection of software to stay free software in the case of redistribution. Open Source on the other hand only grants certain rights to people receiving an open source licensed product without requiring them to give the same rights to others as well.

Sounds nice, but what about:

Code: Select all

                       Warzone 2100
- Free as in Freedom; only Life itself is more valueable -

You are making fun of me... :( Actually that was not a joke...
But in case I am wrong and your [nobbc]

Code: Select all

[/nobbc] was not a joke either, I think it is too long for a catchy phrase.

Yes, I already thought that. There is afaik also an "OSI approved" logo, which would make no sense if anyone could use it.

Well, actually it wasn't a joke, just one of my philosophical thoughts, which apparently is too long to be catchy ;)

I like the Black  (WZ100) alot but I think you should just go with the
WZ2100 the 2 makes the difference. Another thing you could do is drop one of those metal skulls in there somewhere.
