Does Traffic still a issue to the game?

Post by Ant1989 »

Hi, I was always a fan of Warzone, since playstation 1. At the time I played on easy, I was still young needing to "get good", after I uncovered the software became free and was available for download, I loved the idea and played again, this time on normal. While I did beat the game, I couldn't stop thinking, "is it me or all the traffic of the veicles are slower?" Are they having more problems to retreat than the PS1 version? Then, sometime passed I decided to play again the new version, but this time on hard, and this time the Traffic problem was evident. Maybe because the enemies have more things to throw at me and end up killing my things before they can retreat, but man... It the second world it was unberable, Ok, most of my units tends to be heavy tanks and I usually dont use cyborgs, but frenquently I saw then pushing each other trying to retreat, staying at the same place and being hit by something that ended up kiling them. Even with a commander lv almost max I couldn't beat the VTOL base on part 2. My Tanks tried to advance, were hit by the missiles, tried to retreat, keep pushing the ones on the back and died on the second wave of fire. It got to a point in which I said "screw the retreat, DO or DIE". I finally managed to beat it, but with great costs. At the end, that part was so frustating I ended up giving up.

So, much time has passed ever since, so I saw more versions came out, so can anyone tell me if the Traffic problem was solved? I really love this game, I love how it adresses sci fi so realistic, I love to design my tanks. And I would love to fulfil my love by beating it on Hard. But the way it was it really feels the fault is on the game pathing and not on my plan, I really would need to wait for hours to get the resources needed to rebuild my army after each attack, and praying my commanders don't die. Of course, I could have used smaller units to avoid Traffic, but than they would die on the first wave of missile fire or whatever the game throw at me, it would be a do or die anyway. Or maybe this problem was intended as it is as an disvantage for use of Heavy Tank, and I am just really bad on this game.

Anyway was the traffic problem solved?

Maybe I should say Pathing. Sorry for not be an English speaker. But the way I see it looks like Traffic like in the cities , like Traffic jams, with cars stopped.

Thank you Berg, I will try the game again.
