Some comments about the game

Hi guys, new user (but not a newbie) here! In the past, I've played a lot of WZ2100 on my netbook, an acer aspire one. Recently I got linux on my new computer and I decided to try WZ again (had some compiling shenanigans first, discovered that spaces in filenames are bad[/]). I forgot how awesome this game was :D so I thought I'd share some of my thoughts about the game here.

The unit design process is amazing. It's unique yet every RTS needs it. I don't have much progress in the campaign yet, but I already made a lot of different combinations. Also the fact you can name your vehicles is a nice touch. The graphics, while not really up-to-date anymore, are pretty cool, and they remind me of other RTSes I saw my older cousins playing when I was younger (In fact, "when I was younger" happens to be around 2000, which is when this game was originally released if I'm not mistaken). I have not yet played a multiplayer match, however I am going to play a LAN match tonight.
I do have some gripes about the controls though. Every modern RTS has WASDQE controls, this game is still controlled via the arrow keys (please tell me if there's a one-click option to switch to WASD that I missed). What I also find annoying is that you select units with the left mouse button, but also issue commands with the left mouse. Very often I accidentally make my units protect my factories. I'd like to suggest that there be an option to switch to LMB for select, RMB for issueing orders.
I think that's it, I'm off.

Cheers
please correct any mistakes I make in my english. I'm especially unsure about the "that there be" part, lol

I also dislike the keyboard controls in the game, the shortcuts or hotkeys can be a pain since they use the function keys (f1, f2, f3, etc) and the lack of WASD movement can also be a pain especially when playing a fast game.

I might look into the source to see if theres anything that can be changed about the controls, I'll report back if I find something (also if I don't find something)

EDIT: I think I've found where the controls are defined. I'll make a fork and play around with the controls.

EDIT2: I've found that you can actually make the right mouse button issue orders, but the option name for that is really obscure: It's "Flip Mouse Buttons" in "Mouse". Well, I guess it's a start :)

EDIT3: The keymap.cpp files only contains the user-changeable controls. I'll keep on searching, the code for moving camera should be somewhere, right?

You're kinda taking my words out of context there. I actually meant that I like the retro graphics! :D
As for that mod you linked me, what is the goal of that mod? I read the first post in the thread and I was more or less left puzzled.
