Excellent. The cliff-brush picture 3 is great. Picture 1 and 2: Thats what i just try in the urban tileset. To use the "normal" tiles as cliffs. I never had the idea to use the green in Rockies tileset as cliffs. It would be nice, it flame give us the chance, to make a different between the handmade cliffs and the ground. I know, you understand what i mean. Nice, NoQ :) I am sure, you will be not angry, if i take your idea for my next rockie map.

Grass cliffs with snow ground are, on one hand, fairly unrealistic, and, on the other hand, unfortunately, don't look very well from above (took me a while to find a good viewpoint for the photo, but you don't normally look from that direction). I think i'd release the map anyway, but it's not as fantastic as i imagined (or you may expect by looking at the screenshots). In fact, i'd also like to try the opposite: snow-white cliffs with grass as main ground color.

I find the gravel-cliffs (which are also present on screenshots 1 and 2) much more sensible, but they still don't fix the problem of overall dirty look of the rockies tileset.

Picture 3 is actually the same map, with glacier tileset on top of it; doesn't look very well as a whole, as in some places the same texture gets accidentally used for passable ground.

I can´t agree. It is a matter of taste. I like it. The green as cliffs is absolutely realistic. Ok-i never was in the rockies. Here in Europe the snow covered mountains looks exactly like in this map :3 And i don`t know who has the right to say, whats looking good or bad. I want to see new ideas. Rman Virgils Pangea-map and this map are finally new ideas. Thats, what i want to see.

Hmm-i noticed, that every snow trees are flying over the green cliffs. Not so important for the game. Just want to say.

I was playing a Warzone 2100 beta (dating back to December 1998) from one of the Eidos CD catalogues and I was able to modify some of the .txt files. Look what I discovered upon changing a few of the research settings:
