How to best use Research
How to best use Research
What sequence makes the most sense ?
Re: How to best use Research
Depends what you're trying to achieve.
There are some common patterns though, such as:
* MC: Machine guns and cannons
* MR: Machine guns and rockets
* FR: Flamer and rockets
If you look at source code to Nullbot AI you can get some idea of the researches involved for each strategy. I'm not sure if anyone has documented the research paths for these strategies anywhere.

Re: How to best use Research
I was trying to understand what the balance should be in research between specific weapons & general engineering?
Re: How to best use Research
Do the latter unless you can die if you don't.Schwager1 wrote:I was trying to understand what the balance should be in research between specific weapons & general engineering?
Figuring out if you die if you don't takes experience (understanding the game timing and evaluating how it interacts with map size, understanding enemy strategies and the situation on the board).
