Windows 7 32bit Map Editor

I cannot seem to get any of the map/world editing programs to work on my windows 7 system. I have all the requirements, an up-to-date graphics card with latest driver, but cannot get the map making program run. I have manually changed my display from 32 to 16 bit; that hasn't solved the problem. I have tried running the program in compatibility mode for XP (spack3) and as system administrator. None of these have enabled me to even get a glimpse of the map maker. I have downloaded several versions from several sites, none of them will work in 32bit mode.
Does anyone have any advice for me?
Is there a Win7 32bit version in the pipeline, or does one exist already? I tried to follow a link given in the Map/Mod forum but that link has been disabled (and the feedback from other users was awful) so there's probably no loss there.
Please help me; I really want to contribute something to the Warzone Community.

Did you try FlaME, anyway?
