no sound

Hi there

I'm running on Linux Ubuntu Edgy Eft
I have no sound when i'm playing warzone.
Other games like saurbraten do have sound.

Any sugestions?

Are you sure your desktop's soundserver hasn't grabbed your sounddevice? Because on my machine (kubuntu dapper) KDE's soundserver tends to grab my sounddevice so that OpenAL (sound backend as used by warzone) which uses OSS directly (default compilation, settings with ubuntu's packages) can't get a hold of it anymore.

I killed some processes which are liky to use the sound device.
But a'm not sure
I killed a process called esd and the volume manager but still no sound.
