Cheat Issues on Mac
Cheat Issues on Mac
I can't figure out how to cheat on Mac OSX 10.4.8, the big problem I see is not knowing how to enter command line entries when starting the game. The topic this was part of before seems to have disappeared, but I was told to contact Ari (iamtheari), which I did through email and PM, but he has not replied to either and I'm very stuck in campaign mode. If someone could walk me through this I'd be very grateful.

You can pick your friends, and you can pick your fights, but picking fights for your friends is hilarious.

Re: Cheat Issues on Mac
well - i am going to assume that the mac can utilize desktop shortcuts...
go here and click on the first image... will show you how and where to place the string.
your folder tree may be different but the stings involved shouldnt be...

note the spaces and the double dashes - also ensure the punctuation is also correct... seems for some reason that is missed at times. ;D"C:\Warzone 2100_205_rc2\warzone2100.exe" --mod grim.wz --fullscreen --viewport 1280x1024 --cheat

"to prepare for disaster is to invite it, to not prepare for disaster is a fools choice" -me (kim-lav_coyote25-metcalfe) - it used to be attributed to unknown - but adding the last bit , it now makes sense.

This is the information window for the "alias" file (same concept as a shortcut) but I don't think I can change the file path (select new original has no text input)

Re: Cheat Issues on Mac
Just asked ##mac on FreeNode... The answer was not very satisfying, but that's what they said:
"Create a wrapper shell script."
Contents could probably look like this:
"Create a wrapper shell script."
Contents could probably look like this:
Code: Select all
#!/bin/sh
/path/to/warzone2100.app --option1 ... --optionn
Re: Cheat Issues on Mac
Kurdas, are we allowed to use/save that image?
We all have the same heaven, but not the same horizon.
Re: Cheat Issues on Mac
Thanks, I'll try that in a bit and let you know what happens.DevUrandom wrote: Just asked ##mac on FreeNode... The answer was not very satisfying, but that's what they said:

They also said that firefox uses something like this... Maybe you want to look into the firefox app if you have it installed.

Re: Cheat Issues on Mac
I have the same problem! I think you should be able to add the option cheat to the config file to cheat. It would make things a lot easyer.

"Select new Original" ?
Re: Cheat Issues on Mac
Tried that, there's no text entry it just allows you to choose a new application to go with that alias.
Would it be out of the question for the devs to make cheat mode simpler and easier to use on different platforms? Maybe just an options menu item? Just a thought.

Instead we've added this as an option to the config file, this is likely to appear in the next release.Kardas wrote: Tried that, there's no text entry it just allows you to choose a new application to go with that alias.

Sounds good, I guess I'll just wait for the next release then.

Re: Cheat Issues on Mac
Is this what you want???
First you have to find the Warzone2100 application.
Should be in your "Applications" folder
Right click on the Warzone 2100 icon and select "Show Package Contents".
Navigate the folders till you find "warzone2100.sh".
Should be in these folders "Contents/MacOS --> warzone2100.sh"
I made a backup copy of the file at this point.
Open warzone2100.sh in TextEdit.
You might have to right click on the file and go to "Open With --> Other".
Then select TextEdit from the Applications folder and click on "Open"
You should see this in the file:
#!/bin/sh
MYDIR=`dirname "$0"`
cd "$MYDIR"
pwd
exec ./warzone2100 --datadir ../Resources/data
Now add " --cheat" after "exec ./warzone2100 --datadir ../Resources/data"
Don't forget to include the space after the "/data".
It should now look like this.
#!/bin/sh
MYDIR=`dirname "$0"`
cd "$MYDIR"
pwd
exec ./warzone2100 --datadir ../Resources/data --cheat
Now save the file and start the game.
When playing hit "shift" and "delete" at the same time to go into debug/cheat mode
Then hit "t" on the keyboard and type in the cheats. Some cheats don't work.
Hope this is what you are looking for.
I included a picture to visually help show where and what it should look like.
