The application is not initialized correctly

Post by leopard driver »

I've seen this in the bug tracker and someone wrote down that it would have been solved but still persists so:

Win XP SP2
1GB ram
ATI 9800 PRO
AMD Barton 2800+

The game won't start and the error is (roughly translated form italian): "The application is not initialized correctly 0xc0150002). Click OK to continue."

BTW I think you should really really leave a section of the forums opened to bug reporting it's way simpler.
I'm well aware I'm OT but I think having feedback in the wrong place it's better than having no feedback at all.

Bye,
leopard

We already talked about it, and came to the same result.
But i was to lazy to change it... :P

Its done now!

However, which warzone version do you run?
Which OS?

The application is not initialized correctly

Post by leopard driver »

Ok, I'm glad you accepted my suggestion and there we go:

Warzone version:
warzone-2.0.4_rc1

Description:
"The application is not initialized correctly (0xc0150002). Click OK to continue."

How to reproduce:
Double click on Warzone.exe or go to Start -> Programs -> Warzone 2100 etc, it's the same result. I've tried to install with and without admin privileges, but no way, always the same error. What I've tried not is to install the Visual Basic libraries but wouldn't it be easier if the game was compiled with them? As I said this bug has been reported in the bug tracker (#6401) but I think it's quite an important one.

Operating system:
WinXP Pro SP2

Other information:
1GB ram
ATI 9800 PRO -> Catalyst 5.13
Avance AC97 Audio
AMD Barton 2800+

Regards,
leopard

1) I think you dont have some sdl files or somethink like that. Anyway try to download this from my site : http://krossfire.net.ru/index.php?do=do ... file&id=47.
2)If VCredist_x86_for_wz_2.0.3 this is not help. May be its your ATI 9800 PRO -> Catalyst 5.13. Because I tested wz on Radeons and its works not so fast as I expcted.

We talked a bit over the bugreporting method again...
However, we have no decision yet. So, bugs will go to the Gna.org bugtracker again.
Sorry for that :(

I am having the same problem - getting the same mesage when I try to run 2.0.4. ("failed to initialize properly 0xc015002)")

I tried downloading VisualCC++2005 Redistibutable Package x86.  No help.

I am running XP Home on a Presario.

I did not have WZ installed on this machine before clicking on "Windors Installer" on the downloads page.  WHile installing, a screen came up showing "Mods" with subordinate file "Grims art update."  The block for "Base" appeared only as a shadow.

Should I install 1.10 BEFORE 2.0.4?

no!!! :o  do not install any of the old patches / mods / etc with ANY of the new releases.

go and download 2.05 ;D

2.04 is and will continue to be VERY bug filled. >:( - i suppose someone will have to finsd and delete that particular download from all places.

205 is very stable ( windows xp sp2 on presario and Certified data machine.)  if you need any help let me know.
‎"to prepare for disaster is to invite it, to not prepare for disaster is a fools choice" -me (kim-lav_coyote25-metcalfe) - it used to be attributed to unknown - but adding the last bit , it now makes sense.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

And thanks to the entire team for their work on WZ.
