That's it. Looks like the game crashes when the 7th player joins an 8 players game in wz. We tried many times, and no matter who was the host the game crashed....

Don't forget to report this to the bugtracker with the crash dump added to it (the .mdmp file).

i tried later with 2.0.7 and 2.0.8. Same effect. I still havent saved a crash dumb, though

yeah, happens on 2.0.10 too.
The player who is hosting gets a crash when the 7th joins.
All the other players don't crash, they just have to wait for socket timeout to get back on the lobby
6 player games are pretty cool though (when they stay on sync), despite the units and structures randomly suiciding.

Wow, just found this on the 2.1 change plan. Looks like units will stop suicide every 2 secs! (and maybe players will be out of sync less)

What happens is that we have renegade AI *cough*nexus*cough* that takes control of units, and starts killing yours. However, since it released a 'virus', the units have turned invisible, and you can't see them attacking you by normal means.

Yeah, it really is a feature. We didn't list it in the ChangeLog, but what we created is the so called Nexus-Shadows-Army. It should add some fun and improve the balancing.
If you don't like this feature, ok... We can remove it again...
