No idea. Is this something that anyone uses? I just turn off the music and use a third party application for playing my own music anyway, and kinda expected that was what everyone else did, too...
Well usually yes. But Sometimes I play with warzone's music for a good atmosphere, and I add some Goth Zagog warzone remixes and Klepacki's Dune themes, so I should mess with playlists in external App, just use warzone music.
Well the question is : May be that folder left from old times 2.0.x and can be removed ? As it is now creats by warzone as default.

Save the existing default music somewhere first (is any). Next, get whatever songs you want, convert them to <.OGG> format, and rename to what the default music files are called. Move them to your </.warzone2100-3.1/music> music directory ( or whatever they call the Warzone directory under Window$, if that's what you use). Simple....
P.S> Names for default music files are:
menu.ogg, track1.ogg, track2 and track3.ogg
I use the same music file for all, that way I have the same music in the background all the time.
What do I think about Window$ ??? Just see my AVATAR...
I have this issue in version 3.1 on my linux install as of August 24th. No matter what I try, I can't get music to work. I've tried renaming the music files in different ways but that doesn't even work.
