I'm having some trouble setting up EditWorld32. When you start it for the first time you get a setup window asking you to set a number of directories, but it isn't clear to me what each should contain, or where I can find this. I've looked over the original tutorial and I could not find any information on this. Could someone please help me out?

Ah, groovy! I finally got it to work... though I can't actually load any maps I had already made (because it still loads the datasets from data/ instead of samples/), other then that it works fine.

Maybe this should be added to the tutorial as well?

i really dont know about this... you would think that i would have done that already... oh! wait!!! I DID!!! :stressed:

really!!! you should read the tutorials. :stare: especially the third page(pic) it explains it all if you bother to read the whole document... at the bottom of the first page of the tutorial there is a link to show how to build a map using graphics.... :stare: tutorial read all the pages...pay attention especially to pages 1 through 4... as this covers what you NEED. xD

I did. Twice. There's no mention of setting up the directories anywhere. Not the official tutorial, or the one you linked (which I hadn't found before I read the thread that jimmbob linked, where is it linked on-site?). I did found that I erred somewhere though. I had the data folder set to the samples folder (per someone's example), used "new map" instead of the "N" button and did not save my map project in the samples folder. With that solved, everything works as it should now.

Did you try flaME? I can't really see why would anyone use EW instead of flaME.
Anyway, are you serious you don't know where to get EW? Geez, read the first post 8)
