Windows 7 OS incompatability

Post by johnny2bad »

Hello
2.3.9 still wants to play on XP Pro so maybe someone knows what to do.
Made a real mess of the pc including hanging, freezing, crashing...
BTW: IT'S THE BEST GAME IN THE WORLD, except for the mechanics and engineers, little blighters.
Gee I can get annoyed, but otherwise, yeah, it really is the game I've enjoyed above all.
Kind of addicted to Cockpit against the programmers. I can see their thinking, and it's cool.
Right, enough sucking up, it's time for some answers if anyone can help.

BTW: It's probably your grafix drivers, I just ran a version from back in 2005 and it worked fine on win7
In general, if you see glowing, pulsating things in the game, you should click on them.

GPU, what's that? What that is means dial-up again to save up for a way better one than this.
Other than that, 2.3.9 played perfectly, beautifully, on this same pc with XP Pro 64-bit and 1 Gig of RAM but now that it has 4 plus 7 Home Premium 64-bit it doesn't want to know.
Well, sort of. It eventually began to play but sooo slooow...
That tip about an earlier version may be the go because the first time playing was August 2010 which was great.
7, in my not at all humble opinion, is not as easy as XP, which I miss. Nearly.

To you two who responded: Cheers & Beers.
Thanks,

Johnny2Bad.

So i installed the 3.1 rc3 version on 2 machines. It ran fine on my Windows Vista SP2 box, but kept crashing on my Win7 laptop with 4GB RAM and Intel HD integrated graphics.

The problem is with the intel HD integrated graphics drivers. You need to update them.

Look above your post.
That is how you fix it.
