Models by macuser

Post by macuser »

Some time ago I recall someone had made a very nice redo of the walls, however there was a problem with its "fins" pointing funny direction on some maps. Also it did not "tile" very well. I finally got to making this model this afternoon however, although the model is done I would like to know were the textures for the orig model reside so as to apply them. Please feel free to post your comments/criticisms/suggestions.

Yeah, that was the problem, but the model he made now is even on both sides(at least looks so on the shot), which eliminates that problem.
Mac, it's a great model. I'd love to see it textured and in-game.

lol, I'm the opposite. It's a great texture (except for the green, which could use more variation; maybe a gradient like the current wall), but I'm rather partial to the current game model, or at least something more symmetric.

Aggreed, I like the cement part as it is very detailed but the green (teamcolor) part needs to be a bit less saturated (and use tcmask)

@Kuky Yes it IS symmetrical - thats why I made the model

Are you using new texture pages or modifying the old one Mac?

If I could I would modify the old one, but as of yet I don't have the old one :( does anyone know where it is?

You have new textures I assume you put them in the texpages folder that is also where the old textures are stored.

What I meant was the textures used previously on the wall picture daltx posted above. I would like to modify those textures. does anyone know their whereabouts?

The original model was made by yahodahan, and then Mangust modified it to have less polys. I'm sure Mangust has the textures.

I'm not sure about the model, can you provide poly counts? Those are crucial for walls, since they're repeated a lot in-game.

Nice work

Looks good. Maybe make it more like Nexus corner walls, those always looked great.
