Great work on all the models! I look forward to seeing them in-game.

Zarel wrote:Hmm. It seems to me that both the barrel and the muzzle should be enlarged, and the turrets should be resized to match the old metrics better. The old MC and HCs were already hard enough to distinguish, let's not make them worse. If anything, the HC should be even bigger. You should also follow the pattern of muzzle size - it's a useful dinstinguisher. Might also help to take a hint from the old textures - they look better than solid green/teamcolor.
Yeah, Dev knows best here, in my opinion. Anywho, welcome to the community Jorzi, and thanks for helping out with the AR project. That lancer looks spectacular!

Thanks guys, unfortunately my studies are taking more time than usual right now, so there will propably not be any updates for some time.

I managed to do the minipod despite the limited time.

I like it a lot, but it looks too much like a webcam...

Maybe a bit, but no way to confuse them, there is no webcam turret. :-D

Ofc there isn't...
Maybe there should be :D

Recommendations to make it less webcamish:
Remove that openable in base.
Not make it be based only on side holders, that are really thin btw...
Reduce the spike, it pops out too much.

It's fine as is. With color, I bet it won't be a problem.

Good work but you've forgotten the few important(imho) bump map parts - pipes.

P.S. I'm a bit stuck with the hipoly mortar model(no ideas :augh: ). If I can't improve it more I'll send the mortar models to you. May be you'll find some ideas or you(and others) will choose between 2 variants. :)

Hi Jorzi!

Great model as always. I agree that it's good as it is and I have to make a real effort to see it as a webcam. I dunno, sometimes people see unusual things, like here:
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=3079&hilit=new+logo#p29922
I lol'd pretty hard on that, I bet that Kamaze himself did XD
No shame on it, as I myself see things like that sometimes :hmm:

Anyway, looks like you've managed to grasp the essentials to warzone models, especially as we're trying to do with AR. Excellent work, I knew you've had what it takes to produce models of the best kind :D

(to Jorzi and Mangust) I'm wondering, how's progress with the cannons? I bet the other folks want to see it with improved textures (did I forget to make something I should? Like TCmask? :hmm: ).

I'll probably go through a get-back-to-my-feet course through the next week, I have a lot (about 6) exams next week, in addition to some researches, so it'll be hell (sh*t, what happened to this month? I hope that it's only april that's trying to kill me or something, because sure things are really bad since about three weeks ago). Hopefully I'll manage to get back to my usual routine by that time (may, 9th). Sorry about my absence.

Keep up the excellent work!

Thank you all for your encouraging comments :)

@Kuky maybe it's the camera angle that makes it look webcam-ish to you :P The "spike" is the same angle as the original, and if you look at real rocket pods some of them have even sharper cones since they are used as aircraft and helicopter mounted weapons and need to be streamlined. I think the idea in warzone is that these weapons are re-mounted on vehicles because they are cheap and easily computer-controlled without requiring an expensive ammo-feed mechanism.

@Mangust I've been thinking about those details and what they might resemble, especially the pipes. Are they exhaust pipes or something else and what are they doing on the turret? It feels a bit like they're only there because they are part of the default texture. Do you still think they are a needed detail?
About the mortar, feel free to send me work in progress and any stuff you like for feedback, maybe I can come up with some ideas. It would also be nice if you or Olrox could send me some of your own stuff like bodies and propulsions so that I could try out my turrets and see if the how they fit together.

@Olrox I sent the cannon models to Mangust after doing some slight tweaks. UV map is still the same. I can send you the models (or other stuff) if you need. Oh and don't worry about absence, even if we're passionate about this, studies and life always need higher priority than a computer game.

I don't know what they are doing on the turret but when I create models I try to save all parts that an original model and texture have. :)

Maybe they're vents of some sort?

I think it could give the turret's body a bit more detail which helps make it look a little less generic (not a critique on your model, just the design of the podturret). You've got a few tris to spare anyway ;)

I'll try to add them without it looking like pasted-on decals...
