Models By Hesterax
Re: Models By Hesterax
Tried painting directly on the model worked but the textures didn't save, only the UV map.

Re: Models By Hesterax
Ah yes, you have to save the texture image separately through the UV/image editor (shortcut f3)

Thanks, I'll see to it

Re: Models By Hesterax
Been a bit inactive for a while, didn't have much time on blender (mostly was experimenting and watching a few tutorials).
Here is a WIP Power Model I have been working on:

Re: Models By Hesterax
Started working on a more Humanoid Cyborg, supposed to be smaller and leaner though I will try to make it more robust and stocky looking. Just a rough model of course. The limbs (especially the legs), and cannon need a lot of work.

Re: Models By Hesterax
Those models look nice already. From experience I know that starting in 3D modeling can be very overwhelming, especially if you drop into blender (SketchUp is another story). Texturing is a hard task, too.
Keep it up and you'll get to it

Re: Models By Hesterax
I used to use SketchUp for a while but it really isn't that good for anything but simple furniture and wall making so I gave up on it since I have found other software that can compensate, SketchUp is still a great way to start 3D modeling especially for youngsters . And I have to agree, grasping texturing is a hard task. I have seen the basic concept but feel lost at times.aeTIos wrote:Those models look nice already. Yeah making a texture isn't hard, it's hard to make it look right.Hesterax wrote: I have seen the basic concept but feel lost at times.
Re: Models By Hesterax
Just a go on texturing. Terrible and unrealistic but this was done with paint, all I wanted to do was make my first successful texture, used cycles render:

Even though, yeah, it's going to be a ziggurat anyway after all, it's already starting to make sense. I could imagine a whole custom campaign faction with that sort of buildings, or something like that.

Another practice try in basic texturing, also using paint and rendered with cycles render:

Re: Models By Hesterax
I am going to be a bit more inactive for the next few months, on a school holiday and technical difficulties. Might post my next model soon though no promises...
