current issues:
1) savegames dont work
2) some bunkers cannot be designed because machinegun bunker has invisible weapon
3) balance issues (can be fixd later, when i got good working mod)

Giani, i hope you can help me with testing multiplayer games tomorrow :)
i'll publish beta version of mod for windows here (or you can dload it from git, if you are on linux)

I didn't really read the thread, but isn't this all about removing a connector from the body model? Consider, for example, scavenger trike bodies. You can mount any weapon on it, but it will never be visible, because the CONNECTORS section of the PIE file is empty, so there's no place to attach a gun. So what is the problem with that? Just curious ...

we have invisible weapons in weapons.txt :)
if you check out MG bunker - see this bunker have not any visible weapon on it, but connectors are ok
both MG and AG bunkers have weapons with invisible models
so in weapons.txt we have 2 records for Asault Gun 1) visible version 2) invisible version
both version have same stats, only different model file

so problem - i think its weird have weapons with invisible models, but i did not tried add this weapons in list

[upd:]
simpliest solution: leave MG and AG bunkers as it is
all another defenses will be removed (i'll remove it only from research paths)

So if you just remove the connector from the bunker pie and replace redundant weapons with their visible copies, will it be ok?
Another simpliest solution is to remove the mg bunker model completely, replacing it with a regular bunker with machinegun on top.
By the way, it could be fun to have bunkers with an arbitrary invisible weapon (you don't know what weapon you will encounter unless you are actually shot) :D

I agree with NoQ on this. We really don't need multiple models for generic bunkers, emplacements/pits, hardpoints, or hardcrete towers. So standardizing models would probably be for the best in the short term.

i can simple place visible weapon on that bunkers, i just want keep current bunkers

No, in that particular suggestion, i suggested to keep the original look, but change the mechanics: instead of an invisible weapon, use a visible weapon, but remove the connector from the bunker body, making any weapon mounted on it invisible automatically.

ah. nice solution :)
hmm but may be we can got problems with targeting or not?
i'll implement this and make only few weapons aviable in invisible bunker

@NoQ i have also another issues, one of them is stats of structures
you can help if you read here viewtopic.php?f=32&t=8927&start=60 from "few words about balance"


i like when we can have 2 bunker bodies, more bodies = more fun :)

I'd prefer for now to have it visible.

Then we could talk about having specific combination of stuff make a special pie once we are set. like hmg+bunker= hmg bunker.

But for now, the simplest you keep it, the better.

For me weapon on top of bunker looks weird, what is the point for having bunker then, expensive basement? ;-)
Even if that could be explained by that there is live crew inside it then it probably should have less HP as weapon wouldn't be protected.

Guys, I don't think that it'd be fair if the opponent cannot see what weapon is being used on that bunker, if the weapon was placed inside the bunker or made invisible, until it's too late. :stare:
