QuesoGLC: Time to move on?

Post by bendib »

QuesoGLC has been dead for a while. 3.1 includes a version of QuesoGLC in the 3rdparty directory, partially integrated into the game in an attempt to address the problem. In Legacy, our Beta 11 codebase (now deprecated) does the same thing, but our 2.3 base links with it externally. I notice Safety0ff's repo on QuesoGLC hasn't been updated in a year. Are there any good, acceptable alternatives we should be adopting? I can't find any. If so, I suggest we both begin migration.

I've been considering replacing QuesoGLC with freetype-gl (http://code.google.com/p/freetype-gl/) for a while, but since I find working with font code to be about as enjoyable as a root canal filling, I have not yet done anything with it...

If people would just speak English like everyone else, this problem would go away.
