Would it be passable to make the animation affects only 1st mesh in a barrel model?

we can split a barrel model into a 2 separate meshes. The old models have only a 1 mesh, so if recoil animation will affect only 1st mesh, the AR models animation will show correctly.

Should be doable. I can give it a shot. Can you open a bug ticket about it? And it would be much easier to implement correctly with a test case model, if you have that.
