That is awesome! That is a great idea! Nice job! :D
coolkid wrote:Claydoe if you ever get back into steam just let me know and I will hook you up.

I can already see many site that i kept up having outdated version. :( That auto-updater would partially remedy these extra man hours required to do this and make it easier for the players :D
Lol, someday... someday....
I will get back on steam for Portal 2 when it comes out.... so soon hopefully! :)

Hey look the often criticized, unofficial promoter/public relations guy is back with more warzone promoting for you guys to criticize :ninja:

so first off i have posted a news article to moddb
http://www.moddb.com/games/warzone-2100 ... e-2100-235
i couldn't update the dl since i seem to have no authority anymore to that site so yea....

I also updated the unofficial(or official) warzone steam group that you should all join and ask to be admins
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/wz2100

I informed softonic about the 2.3.5 release even tho i think they dont update it.
http://warzone-2100.en.softonic.com/

As i have stated school has kept me from harming warzone too much by not being able to recruit players and developers but im trying to find a little bit of time to help(harm)

So what has everyone else been doing lately to spread the word that warzone is now free(there is a lot out there that is still rediscovering this game) and finding developers and organizing games.

So this is somthing that i did a few years back (2008) to see what we can and should do to help warzone publicity. Now that it is 2010 and many versions later lets see what we should do to get things in this department kick started again. So basicly what I am saying is what have you been doing and what should we do.

some of my ideas
-try to get all these websites that have outdated versions updated(this would make sure everyone on the same version online and have the latest and greatest experince)

-on developer communities ask around if there is anyone interested in helping out warzone development

-look into the indie/freeware online distribution service Desura http://www.desura.com/

Warzone 2100 has made it to the top 100 indy games of 2010, show your support for this open source game and vote. I dont even think you need to register.

The unwanted people probably won't be interested in playing an old RTS game released in 1999.

I made a bit userbar for my other gaming sites before I even saw this topic. I attached a link to the userbar so that the userbar itself is a link, see if that goes anywhere.

What we need here is more devs... more helpers in general. What about google summer of code?

You know, I really didn't think much of the game when I first stumbled upon it! 1999? It seemed so dated, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt and WOW! It is quite the gem. I think the real obstacle is trying to get people to try it. It's the little things that help. Having higher resolutions, windowed mode (including the mouse trap) really helped me with my needs.

Hi all! I first played this game almost 10 years ago on a PS1 demo and i loved it! I spent hours upon hours just on the demo. Yesterday, i was thinking about this game and it stroke me for the first time that it might have been released for PC too! So i searched and i downloaded it and i'm currently playing the campaign! After all these years i still love it! The depth of the strategy is amazing! It is one of the best strategy games ever gameplay wise! I'm surprised it wasn't a huge hit like the Command and Conquer Series.

Sup ppl?
I'm still trying to build the player count over on xfire. It's currently at 105. We have a group there, appropriately called The Project http://www.xfire.com/communities/theproject/. I sometimes go through the pics and vids people have posted for Warzone 2100, and send invites to those players, which are surprisingly allot. We update the news in the group as well and try to be up to date and active

If you use xfire, go on and join it if you haven't already. Xfire is a gaming app that can track games you play, allow you to chat with others while in games, take pics, vids and also broadcast games. Check it out at http://www.xfire.com/
