Crazy: random map generator from map chunks

This is crazy I guess, but just had the though that random maps could be made from a library of handmade map chunks randomly put together.
There should be some design parameters, to enable chunks to connect.
How difficult would it be to make a "map chunk joiner"?

That should be possible, just let me remind you that we already have a random map generator shipped with FlaME.

It could be good,but since it is a RANDOM generator,you may find yerself at a bad position (gets blocked by a cliff near the entrance) or some guys could just VTOL strike you so yeah, could be good,but not balanced,a bit off-scale.

I think it'll result in bad and extremely unbalanced maps.
Best to leave map making to humans.
