Currently all system turrets don't allow to install additional turret on dragon. However, range of some direct fire weapon is up to 2 times higher than for embedded sensor - most of AA and all L3 tech. Of course, there should be one restriction - each sys turret should be only in one instance.
Turrets, doing some work (truck and repair turrets) could have higher performance... not sure, is it correct to install even repair turrets in multiple instance, but combination of truck and repair turrets could be useful. Or may be introduce universal tech turret, as already done with radars?
As for commander and scout - it is usual, when they have some weak weapon for defence - on dragon it could be synaptic link or any universal weapon (laser).
Weapon, combined with system turret, may work independently of main, like structure-based weapon.

huh. this actually sounds neat! but i have done some experiments with the Dragon body,and i was able to make a slow builder and a fighter,which was able to do on Python body on 2. version or earlier
