I think Jetpack Cyborgs could be cool.
Moving back instead of forward

They were in v.1.12 but there were issues - the reason why Pumpkin decided to take 'em out of the retail release. Earlier this year aubergine came up with a solution for those issues. You can find it here: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=10498&p=116260&hilit=jump+borgs
The solution would also dovetail with being able to make better WZ Machinma for use in CAM cut scenes, among other things. The proverbial 2 birds with one stone. :hmm:

They would be cool, but they should probably be implemented as a mod, as the game balance could be altered significantly.

there would be a new ranged unit,which would get some pretty fast tech explorers get a unfair advantage over others,so no

Pros: Large range,fast (maybe)
Cons: Would give unfair advantage to others,could be expensive to produce,would need another unit for targeting the Jetpack Cyborgs etc.

Would be pretty cool though it would be just another version of the VTOL (just imagining jet pack propulsion visible while designing a unit). Would have to restructure the research tree to include the numerous upgrades and propulsion for the cyborg.
