Command to research a particular research

I would recommend a command that could research a particular technology without using /give all.

/work harder would require you to go though the tech tree, what if you wanted to start the game with nexus bodies for funzies?

This sort of thing will be easier to implement, if desired, in WZ 3.2 (assuming we can return something from eventChat() to prevent echo to console of custom commands).

that is the easiest way to do it
start game in T3 then use that to do what you want

Urnight is right. There is no way to select a particular research and it would be great.

Now it's easy to mod the game to have the rules give another research at start. That's what I'd look forward Urnight.
