AI Flaw = Late game Vehicle Designs

Hello.
It seems that as soon as the AI researches heavy lasers they spam them with heavy bodies and tracks and nothing else. This ruins the late game as these vehicles are crap compared to guess cannon/scourge versions. The AI should also make use of assault guns and pulse lasers.

any way to make the ai pinch player designs?

Nice idea, but too easy to abuse. Besides, not all player designs are very good, either... :wink:

well, if it was limited to fielded designs?
particularly those that beat similar templates the ai had.

I think the AI should be able to see what's the player using on each moment, and try to design and build something to counter it.
It's the most logical way.

i wouldnt quite let the ai have that level of omniscience.
since that would let the player spam a bunch of rubbish designs into their template list.

Yeah but the AI could also ponder his choice according of the total power value of your army. And so it will counter your rubbish only if you spent most of your power on rubbish.

I don't think it you'll be wise to calulate each time the best design, but we could give the AI a .txt file containing a grid of good propositions.

How about just give the ai some designs that it can use, like the campaign.

The campaign has predesigned units for each campaign NP has all possible designs using NP technology, collective uses all tech in that campaign and nexus is the same.

So why not have premade designs for the ai to use.

So there would be designs to counter every possible attack/defence so there will be quick attack designs and slow powerful designs as well.

There would be AT (anti-Tank), AP (Anti-Personal), AA (Anti-Air) and Universal designs, there could be long range and short range designs too.

Now your proberly thinking "wow way too many designs" well no because once a research is done the designs change straight away so MG would be replaced by Twin MG then Heavy MG then assault MG so on, and cannon will be replaced by the better cannons (for quick attacks they could use the light cannon still ect).

They just need to have premade designs, maybe use the campaign as a refrence.
