Warzone Playlists/Songs

Post by HairyLee »

Following a post on another thread by BlueMaxima, I figured it'd be good to have a thread where people can post playlists of songs they like to listen to while playing WZ. Aside from pure curiosity, I also think this could help anyone who's making original soundtrack music for the game - if we know what people like & can hear other songs that capture the mood, we can try & incorporate some of those ideas into our own work :)

To kick things off, here's a short(ish) list of songs I rock when playing:

Atlas Plug - Steel Run
Blue Stahli - The Pure and The Tainted - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZccWPASVvn8
Blue Stahli - Throw Away
Blue Stahli - OverKLOCK
Blue Stahli - Kill Me Every Time
Blue Stahli - 88 Rounds Per Minute
Blue Stahli - Shotgun Senorita
Blue Stahli - Accelerant
Blue Stahli - Mystique
Blue Stahli - Premeditated
Celldweller - Stars of Orion - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NF8VlkHovWY
Celldweller - Through The Gates - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hwe7hp1GJ3Y
Celldweller - Pursuit of the Hunted
Celldweller - Narrow Escape
Celldweller - Scardonia
Celldweller Aurora Borealis - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agPEWfAfu5E
Contagion - Give To you
Drev - Oblique Mind
Orgy - Opticon
Orgy - Fiction (Dreams in DIgital)
Orgy - Re-Creation
Voxis - Coiled - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UREqWqOVUkY
Voxis - Pour Elle
Voxis - Shattered
Voxis - The Last
Voxis - Neuro
Voxis - Corruption in Strobe

The ones with the URLs are some personal favourites/ones I think fit the mood best.

Look forward to seeing what you guys have!

Do you put these songs directly into the game, or do you use an outside source?

I just run iTunes in the background - didn't really seem worth converting them all into .oggs!

P.S. this is what you're supposed to do.

It's not about that Zarel, it's more about what someone actually LISTENS to.

Yeah, sorry Zarel - that was a bit of a miscommunication on my part. If we were talking about original soundtrack music intended specifically for WZ then it'd be a case of putting .oggs into the actual WZ file.

But yeah, the idea of this thread was just to see what people generally listen to when they play.

Either way... anyone else got anything? I probably should have specified songs, rather than playlists in the title of this thread. Playlists are way too much effort.

I was following up HairyLee's response to theArmorer's question, clarifying that the Project's officially recommended method of listening to music while playing Warzone is to run a media player in the background rather than modifying Warzone's music files.

It may not be answering the question posed by the original post, but it's directly relevant.

P.S. No, you didn't do anything wrong; there's no need to apologize.

I have a slew of musics from other video games I keep on hand... only one in my "Warzone" list that isn't something out of Megaman or Ogre Battle is Smash Mouth's All-Star.

An interestingly up-beat choice :P

It would be awesome to have the full sound track from Warzone. It would be some good music to play in the car. :D

My play list would be a good mixture of industrial metal: Sybreed and Rammstein.. I may throw in a bit something non-industrial, like Amon Amarth or Ex Deo. :D
