For what it's worth, I do remember the OP, WF-Gladiator from mplayer days. He was one of the better players and I remember he told me he was in the army.
I played multiplayer from 1999 - 2007 until I would only see 2 - 3 players in the gamespy lobby over the course of a few weeks. I thought for sure I was the last player in the world and WZ was dead. I forgot all about this game until I refound it in 2013 and see it's doing rather well. My old nicks were dr-omikron and chem_shadow.

I used to live on this game around 1999 ish I think. Sometimes we would start playing at work on Friday evening and eventually go home Sunday evening. Especially against this one guy at work we were both kind of matched so we could literally play 24 hours straight and neither side win.
Amazing game. I never really played a game that ever since that quite added up the the gameplay depth of Warzone.
