Wiki content

Post by Galaad »

Hi,
I want to help you for this good project (Warzone 2100 is, for me, one of the better RTS with Battlezone 2 and Total annihilation).
In first time I will help for the Wiki, do you need particulars pages ? Can I add page in french ?
I have a techtree in html (I can't remember who released it ... Pivotal .... ), I would be nice to put it on the Wiki ..... if possible.
Bye.

Hi and welcome to wz2100.net.
Sure, you are welcome to add something to  the wiki, but English should be the language of choice.
Because we have international members from America, France, Germany, Finland etc... :)

There is English the lowest common denominator.

Maybe we add later some 'none English' sub zones. However, maybe.

I would really like to have all information in english. I speak dutch myself, but I support the simple fact that 8 pages in english contain more useful information for most users than 4 pages in french and 4 in english. English is THE language on the internet if you ask me.

But it's good that you want to write in the wiki, it still needs a lot of information. Good luck!

I would have done the same number of page in the two languages (traduction faster than realize a page ...).
For my second question, Do you need some particular pages ?

I can't think of something we need urgently...
But you can look here on the forums, see what people ask often and add it to the FAQ or look for explanations (on the forums or on the mailinglist) which seem usefull.

Actually I wouldn't mind having a translation of the pages, as long as _all_ the information is also available in a language I understand (preferably english, so others understand it too. ;) ) and the different languages are interlinked.
That would need to be made a rule for all wiki-writers though. (Do we have a wiki-writers-guide page?)

Kamaze: What do you think about it? Can we add a "fr" namespace?

The question is: "Is it necessary at the moment?"

If someone volunteers...
I guess we don't urgently need it, but I think it's nice and if someone wants to do it, why not?
If we see that the information present differs from the english info, we can allways stop it, I think.

In first time, I will make pages in English.

Wiki in french will be interesting if there is a port of Warzone 2100 in french not before ....

I think there should be a guide for the wiki, and also a TODO list, so that it's clear to everybody what information is still missing.

‎"to prepare for disaster is to invite it, to not prepare for disaster is a fools choice" -me (kim-lav_coyote25-metcalfe) - it used to be attributed to unknown - but adding the last bit , it now makes sense.

:D .... I haven't seen the link to the tech tree on http://warzone2100.strategyplanet.gamespy.com/ .

In the past was released one (or more ?) image with all technology represented, do you have it ?

Nice work ;)
