command lag

Post by LagzAlot »

How long is the time between when you do a command and it gets executed?
This game seems to be around 250-300ms right?
It really is annoying and I wondered if anything is being done to lower that amount?

It takes around 150msec to travel from australia to usa and back. Until it does so, the player in australia doesn't see his units moving. The actual lag is a bit higher because it's not really at lightspeed.

You have to wait for the slowest player, so, if they have a poor route to you, then everyone must wait for this player.

You will see "Zzz" when this happens, with a number by it. That is the player that is slowing down the game for everyone.

solution is therefore move to the southern hemisphere in the outback.

electrons moving over copper cabling is around 10x slower than the speed of light in a vacuum from what I read.

besides you get a read out on latency before you go into the game. Not much can be done unless you can move continents
