FMV's Go P2P!

Greetings. In order to reduce strain on the download server and to provide an alternate access method for the FMV''s i have copied the file from
http://download.gna.org/warzone/videos/ ... es_ogg.zip
to my eMule and set it as release (highest upload priority), i shall run this 24/7 and i request that anyone with eMule do the same so we can build up a large collection of sources.

here is my ed2k link to the file.

this is a great way for low bandwidth users to aquire the file piecemeal over several days e.t.c

If anyone uses other P2P for propagation i request they do the same for thier version.

I personally think one should use uTorrent or something alike. Not too many ppl use direct p2p downloaders (they don't use because they don't trust them -- take the hint )

eMule uses Obfuscation on its direct connection and serverless Kadmilia for its swarm technology, and we have a great background team dealing with...erronius servers. just pop onto the tech help irc channel to get the appropriate server filters, and can say hi to me there also =D

im sure others will be able to offer uTorrent

Thats 2 people that say this should be a torrent, i take it you use torrent apps then? if so why not seed the torrent yourselves, someone has to start the ball rolling and there is nothing wrong with getting these sequences seeded over several networks, gives our userbase more options.

anyone know what network limewire and such use? maybe we could throw that into the pot also.

ok 2 things, first off as soon as you get emule you need to join the irc channel to get the list of secure servers! current safe list is 19 so all the rest are fakes or RIAA.

and second, ill remove a load of the stuff im sharing, i been sharing so long a lot of people have huge credit lists with me and can easily push out the little guy, ill remove all the stuff they like to download till the file had seeded around the network a little more.

Um, it is a bit soon for this, since people need to get the latest trunk builds for the FMV support code... and they would need the nightly builds of trunk.

There is no need for this. Gna! have more than enough bandwidth available for us to use. Furthermore, their backbone is very quick — I got 80Mbit/s when I downloaded them some weeks ago.

heh, it isnt realy meant for us with superfast broadband or what not. its mainly an option for those of us that still use ye olde dial up. we looking at several hours of downloading via normal modem..unless a person has gozilla or some such, with windows thats just begging for a problem to break your download.

when its fast its fine to click the link and save to desktop or whatever, but someone with normal modem may need to break the download mid stream..there are several ways to protect partial downloads , but p2p is probably the easiest and most common these days.

im not looking for a huge drive towards p2p for wz files or anything, but im just offering it as an option for those that need it..sequences_ogg.zip is perminantly in my upload tray, just incase anyone does happen to want it.

I will make a Utorrent file and host it under seeder. I will post the link, and a sub link with the pre-made .wz file for people who don't want to work that out.

sequences_ogg.zip.torrent -- this is just the plain zip that you personally have to add to your specific build.

Base.wz.torrent -- Take the base.wz file and place it in your Warzone2100 install directory.

I have also loaded the .torrent file onto http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4697339 <- Preloaded into base.wz & http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4697341 <- not preloaded in base.wz for tracking in case someone looks for them but does not know how to load them.
And so that you can track them without being directly connected to my computer.

Hahaha, I hope they work this will be my first 2 torrents ever...
