RC2 won't play

My distro recently upgraded 2.0.10 to 2.1-RC2. The menu system works fine but it always gets stuck trying to start a campaign or skirmish. What is going on?

Please update (manually if you must) to the latest version available.
It would also be nice to have more details in your post. 'Gets stuck' don't really mean that much.
