The stable 2.0.10 doesn't have this problem and runs nicely on my machine.

I don't think that the STABLE version has the same font usage, as they were trying to make the program use a internal directory so that it would transfer between OS's well.
Have you tried running in DEBUG mode so that you can get some more out put to help the Dev's?

For the Packager: Has the Windows exe been updated I still see the same beta4 download at the downloads page, no r1 in the name?

For the package, I don't think it was renamed, but it was fixed, so the latest one up, should be the fixed one.

For the 2.0.x version, that used a bitmap font.
2.1 uses 'real' fonts, with the help of 3rd party libs, and it could still be a issue in those libs.

Would be nice to see what --debug all spits out though.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yes, r1 was not named as such but the windows installer was updated and that's what you can download now.
I did a fresh install of 2.1beta4r1 and without altering anything this is what I get with --debug all. After the game loaded and the empty blue boxes appeared I clicked on where quit would be.

Hi,

here some feedback from my side:

For first, thx for the new beta, it's now much better playable, but there are still some bugs/glitches:

- Laser-Satelite does not affect units, only bulidings.
- Laser-Satelite reload time seems to be much faster by the AI.
- Some constructor-units are sometimes endless spinning around, or they are stuck in corners, until they are killed.
- the old "stutter"-problem is still there, but not so extreme and not in all maps, especially big 8 player maps have this "stutter"-problem after 2-3 hours of playing.

I have Windows XP SP3, running on a Fujitsu Siemens AMILO L7310 notebook.
Renderer: VIA/S3G UniChrome Pro IGP/MMX/SSE (64 MB); newest driver (6.14.10.342, 2006.11.10.) OpenGL Version: 1.2 (and 66% of 1.3 and 53% of 1.4 according to OpenGL Extensions Viewer).

Looks like it is a driver issue with the VIA/S3 gfx chipset. Can you try different gfx drivers, and see if it works?

There are lots of bugs/glitches, but who is counting? ;)
The LaSAT stuff can be tweaked. I dunno if anyone bothered to modify them from the original values though.
The spinning constructor is a known issue, and well, one of these days, that bug will get squashed.


I doubt any dev has that kind of time to play the game for 2-3 hours, and check for themselves.
So, yes, upload the savegame, and all the files in the savegame directory.
