So Vista SP1 and XP SP3 work on an x86 (x86_64 untested) in current/up-to-date svn:branches/2.1?

I assume "tested without problems" means you played all missions thoroughly, trying also unusual things to try to produce errors, crashes, or weird behaviour, all without using cheats? Nothing of that happened?
I'm a bit suprised by that level of stability. ;)

Yeah i was a bit surprised to :o, tried everything to kinda cause a crash and nothing happened, I managed to have one problem (Not a crash) but whenever i saved, minimized and reloaded the save the sound would go weird, as in start repeating explosions and missiles (not to mention that awful oil derrick sound) but that was on all XP SP3, Vista sp1, Windows XP vortex and windows xp sp2..
So must be something to do with sounds maybe Lol..

I can't test it because the Game crashes every time when I start the Transporter in Alpha 3. In cam 3 it crashes already after the fist mission (there is not even the results screen).
I'm using xp sp3 and the problem was in sp2 too.

I too am having a problem with the 3rd Alpha mission, it Segfaults after I launch the transporter,(see bug 11635), but not any of the other missions.(yet, *fingers crossed*)

edit: tested on WinXp as well with nightly build r4875-debug and got the crash, added more info the the bug report.

apparently where native builds on windows and Linux fail. Wine will soldier on, desperately trying to run the application.

Yo I'll test the campaign I've played through it many times with the retail version so I'm very familiar with it... What do I need to do?

Just start playing, and try to do weird, unexpected things, and see how it goes.
Then if you run into a issue, and can repeat it, then post as much information about the issue as possible.  You may also want to use the bug tracker, so the devs can have all the bugs in one place.

Did you upload a savegame right before this happens?

Also, not sure it will help, but you can also try --debug all  maybe some useful bit of information is in the logs.

You don't as there isn't one (yet). if your on Windows then grab the latest nightly build (debug version) from the link in this thread
If not on Windows then you need to compile the latest developement version yourself; see the Compile Guide in the Wiki.

On platforms whose file system hierarchy has Unix in its ancestry (Liniux, Mac, etc.) they are located in "~/.warzone2100-2.1"

Finished the game with no errors.

Actually :-\, there was one, in the third mission, third campaing, where I destroyed a building with a phosphor bomb, and the fire went one until I changed the map.
However I couldn't manage to repeat that feat, so I forgot about it.
If someone could please investigate it...
