Just wanna say it's great that you are continuing to update Warzone 2100.
Anyway just to let the creators know. If anyone running VISTA get's a C++ runtime error when playing Skirmsih. Uninstall wz, and re-install on DESKTOP.
Creators. I think it's because VISTA won't let WZ write onto the programs folder. It's got extra protection stuff.
If Vista user's install onto desktop. The wz program might work.
Keep up the great work guys.

Had an old skirmish battle.
Some notes:
-The AI seems a little to campy. Maybe it was just cause they where on meduim, but they didn't really attack me(although my brother was
getting nailed).
-Also is there an option to make the AI team up. For example (All AI vs me and my bro)?
-And finally, there are tons of maps

in vista just assign permitions to the folder you install warzone in, you don't need to install to the desktop.
The map format has changed, those websites list maps for the original CD versions of warzone. They can be easily converted though. just look in the mod section of the forum.
about your skirmish match:
The default ai has been changed quite a bit. they send larger amounts of units to a team they designate as thier next conquest. if your one of those victims your in for a fight. if your not, your on easy street till they beat that team or give up and select someone else. Eventually one AI will overwealm the map and you get hit with a tidal wave of hundreds of units that they built up over the course of the game. If you survive that they usually have enough resources to operate 5 heavy body capable factories and pump out vengance body high tech weaponry uninterupted...
another thing to watch out for is that VTOLs now target and single out oil derecks... you have to keep control of the skies over everything you own now. if you let the vtol build up (or a victom team let them build up and now they are after you) your in a heap of trouble. build anti-aircraft guns in the 20' and 30's numbers. Build a vtol radar tower and assign some vtol of your own to it to help blow some of those things out of the sky.
they also don't like pests either. so if your constantly tossing light attacks at them they usually divert there military resources into your direction... or at the very least build more defense on the side of the base you keep attacking.
It's quite an improvement but they still don't build any super cyborgs or any indirect fire units...

2.1 stuff is slightly different from 2.0, but enough to cause them not to work. :'(
