For the Linux problem:
http://wz2100.net/wiki/faq#my_warzone_i ... n_i_fix_it
Because i had a Radeon9600 Pro first too, it may be the drivers.
For the Windows problem:
Does Wz2100 still save settings in the registry? I think no, or?
Do you have a "config" file in:
C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\Warzone 2100
?

"My Documents" instead of "My Datafiles"
Delete the "config" file in there.

Delete it. If wz2100 doesn't start then, try to reinstall wz2100.

Re: game won't start

Re: game won't start
Installation language doesn't matter.
The game itself will be in english anyway (just the installer messages are translated) and the config file is created by Warzone itself.
We had that issue a looong while ago... I will have a look and see what I find out.

Re: game won't start
we don't store anything in the windows registry beyond what windows stores for itself, right?
in an operating system that tries to be user friendly, the registry is the worst thing to keep around, since for most users, there's no friendly way to edit it, and being that most programs don't remove registry info, if there's some bug being caused by something stored in the registry, then reinstalls generally never work.

No, Warzone doesn't utilize the registry for anything.
The installer stores some values to find it's installation path and the uninstall information, but that is removed if you uninstall Warzone.

Re: game won't start
something did not work, i copied a config file i found in the www in this dictory but it also crashes
but now it has not this entry in the stderr so i thing maybe its not really the problem that the config is not created

This is the driver you have used all the time? It may sound weird, but try uninstalling it and use the free Mesa driver instead.Sento wrote:@ linux

I have a Radeon 9600 myself, and Mesa have proven to be a superior driver for that card.

Re: game won't start
If you somehow could generate a backtrace...
I never did that on Windows, though. So maybe someone else knows how to get one?
