Multiplayer release master-20110209 is now released!

The Warzone 2100 Project staff bring you a new alpha build, master-20110209

This release brought to you by: The Scavenger Trade Union and the VTOL Support Group

This build features the new netcode that everyone has been waiting for.
We eagerly await feedback for this alpha build!

NOTE: command line options now require a "=" before the parameter.
For example, --configdir=./blah

NOTE: For mac users: Support for 10.4 has been discontinued; using 10.6 is highly recommended as 10.5 does not support a sufficiently high OpenGL version for all types of GFX cards.

Main changes:
  • Players leaving before the game starts do not leave behind an "Open" slot that behaves as a completely inactive player.
  • VTOLs do not fly around target sightseeing instead of dropping bombs.
  • Players are not all autokicked for "incompatible mods" in games with scavengers.

Known bugs:
This release definitely contains no bugs. The AI does weird stuff, when loading games, such as doing stuff for the human player or crashing. A rare template-related desynch is possible if ordering a factory to build a droid and then deleting the droid template, while the game is frozen due to lag. Apparently research is completely free, the research cost is visible before starting research, but there is no charge for the actual research.

If you have problems with being kicked or with kicking everyone for "incompatible mods", deleting some maps (for example 8c-early3v3V3.wz) might help.

Please submit all bugs via this link, and follow the directions listed at the link, we need every bit of that information in order to fix bugs!

In general, if you see glowing, pulsating things in the game, you should click on them.

We shook the program very hard, and then sprayed the program with insecticide to make sure.

Any idea? :?

Sourceforge asleep still, I guess. It still says "Pending". Try http://wz2100.net/~cyp/warzone2100-master_20110209.exe for now.

[getaddrinfo_dll_dispatcher] Name resolution isn't supported on this version (4) of Windows

Am I the only one getting this error when trying to connect to lobby server? This does not happen with any other version of Warzone. Running Windows XP SP3. Also after exiting Warzone it stays in memory and I have to kill the process.

ok i'm guessing the umm, limits over 10 on the limits screen? and i like the graphics i just think it really is not a good idea to scroll out too far... and well i'm guessing the super transports are in, and the gates? how bout naval units "strictly" naval...

Problem resolved. On Windows XP you cannot change the name of the directory. The directory must be named "Warzone 2100 Trunk". If you change the name of the directory you will not be able to connect to the lobby server, you will get the Name resolution error and a socket error. You can install to any Drive as long as you do not change the directory name 'Warzone 2100 Trunk".

Hi,
Don’t know if it’s a bug or there is something wrong on my end but in skirmish all players (including AI) have gray color units.
Could someone advise please?

Weird. Started sk game yesterday; played very well. Today load up and find that the AI has taken over my side! It will allow me to do some work, but it will assign any spare trucks to its own tasks - mainly to do with base defence...

hello i have this problem with some of the files in the download:
error at overwriting the file .../warzone2100.exe
same for:
dbghelp.dll
oalinst.exe
