Calling all Mac Developers (and users too)!

Post by dak180 »

We need your help.

There are a number of outstanding issues that require a Mac developers attention to deal with; however we do not have any full fledged Mac developers. Should these issues continue to go unaddressed eventually we may no longer be able to offer Mac builds. :(

In order to prevent this from coming to pass we are looking for a Mac developer to add to the team who knows C and C++.

If this is not you, you can still help; if you know someone who might be interested point them our way. :lecture:

For those who are interested you can contact us by asking for a dev in #warzone2100 and you can get a copy of the source code at github.

Are you on a 32 or 64 bit machine, and OS X 10.4/5/6 ?

Are you available to come visit us on IRC in #warzone2100 then ask for a dev...
and it ends here.

I would like to help you. I know only basic C and C++ . But I do not know both of them perfectly. I am neither a Mac user nor a developer. Still I will try if I get someone who knows Mac very well.

I have a 32bit with 10.6.5 installed, and I might be able to get on irc, I just need to install a client.

What we need done is:
 • Fix the crash handler so it is more like the linux version.
 • Fix Qt so it can read in keyboard input (the "mac way"), and also display those keys in the key config screen.
 • Fix the mac dialogs to work with 10.6+ + 64bit builds done
 • ...and I am sure I am forgetting things, but those are the major ones I can think of right now.
[Edit by Cyp: Added "done"]
and it ends here.

I wish I knew programming at this point. My iMac G5 is officially unsupported at this point & I'm bumming a Mac from family members just to keep my iTunes stuff synced with my iPhone. All I have is my backup laptop which is an ARM laptop that runs Windows CE 5... :( I haven't been able to test let alone play any of the current versions of WZ. I'll ask around & see who I can to try & help.

Hi
I have an iMac Mid-2010 with a 3.2Ghz Core i3 processor and ATI graphics
Warzone works well and I am a very good beta tester and have tested 2.3 and am currently testing 3.0 beta 4
I put warzone through its paces and usually use cheats on skirmish games to see what it can take
I have no developing experience and know nothing about programming but have good knowledge of Mac OSX 10.6.6
I hope I can help and test some stuff
I need some tutoring though on warzone error logging :lecture: :lecture:

thanks
