The Warzone 2100 Project staff bring you a new special testing build, master-20101114

This release brought to you by : When the same isn't the same. :stressed:

This build features the new netcode that everyone has been waiting for.
We eagerly await feedback for this Special Testing build!

NOTE: command line options now require a "=" before the parameter.
For example, --configdir=./blah

NOTE: For mac users: Support for 10.4 has been discontinued; using 10.6 is highly recommended as 10.5 does not support a sufficiently high OpenGL version for all types of GFX cards.


Please submit all bugs via this link, and follow the directions listed at the link, we need every bit of that information in order to fix bugs!

ok, cyp and i along with terminator tested this build. Result: worst game I EVER had.

1. The game lags like CRAZY
2. the game keeps going out of sync
3. when the game goes out of sync the other human players trucks go invisible
4. when it goes out of sync my buildings blow up at random
5. when it goes out of sync the AI controls my units!!!

AND it kept dropping terminator because his FPS went down to 2

ok so i know this is off topic, but i heard that "naval" units are being added, if that is true how are they built / produced?

the graphics from ALL maps seem to be off, say it goes white for EVERYTHING, one more thing... when is the official 3.0 going to come out?

All of that was noticeable even on the 20101030 master build. And as for the AI controlling units, it used to be possible for other players to control your units in 20101030, it could be the same bug. Anyway, back to more testing.

Did it lag like crazy from the beginning, or only when many units were in play? (This is the difference between danger maps or path finding being to blame, respectively.)

Going out of sync is something that we just will have to fix as we go along, and some patience from testers will be required. Sorry.

If you have the git repo, you can also do "git log version1..version2" to see the changes between two versions (e.g. "git log master_20101113..master_20101114", see the tag list on the right side of the gitorious page). And if someone wants to write a changelog for master, it is very much appreciated.

Well also I forgot to mention that pathfinding was NOTICEABLY bad compared to 3.0 even when in synch. And yes it did lag like crazy from the beginning.

this is one of the worst beta's i've ever tested... a complete facepalm... and someone plz tell me there's going to be a fix for the graphics soon...

This isn't a beta...it's a test build for the new netcode. What's wrong with the graphics?
