Zarel, there should be a "become part of our community" somewhere on the page, might help get a few new members

Searching on the guide page (off of the home page) drops the search menu underneath images and videos . Otherwise, the style and layout is smashing.

Is the forum going to adopt the new theme? (I understand however that this is NOT top priority)

Eventually. I think it's supposed to be Kamaze's job, so expect it like next year.

I'm doing this since nearly 4 years, motivation dropped slightly but I'm not uninteressted nor annoyed. It just lost some priority.
