We just released version 2.0.8 of Warzone 2100.
This version is, just like its predecessors, mainly a bug fixing release. There are only few new features, otherwise only bugfixes.
- Possibility to use the zero-key ('0') to assign groups to as well
- Repeat keypresses if the key is hold long enough (e.g. one press of 'A' becomes 'AAAAAAAAAA' if just held long enough)
- Fix: Crash upon receiving invalid sound ID numbers (this should fix some issues previously resolved by disabling sound)
- Reduce the dark borders around the terrain tiles
- Reduced flickering of ground and water tiles
- Slightly improved performance
- Don't add/remove droids to/from groups anymore when selecting or deselecting them
- Of course all changes from 2.0.8 RC 1 are included
You can get the files from our downloads page
Sidenote:
The MojoSetup installer is now based off the Debian 4.0 package and should thus run on a wider range of systems. Additionaly I included a GTK2 frontended, so you should no more need a console to install it.
Unfortunately on some GNU/Linux systems sound doesn't work, and the game hangs. If that happens, you have to run the game without sound (--nosound). This seems to be a problem with one of the libraries we use, not Warzone itself. This will be fixed with version 2.1, but we currently have no solution for 2.0.
This was just fixed in 2.0.9!
If you are using ATI graphics cards and experience bad performance, please try the fixed exe instead, which has a workaround for ATI drivers switching into software mode!
