I'm not sure if this is the cause, but you need to make sure that the setup file is executable. So try:

Code: Select all

chmod a+x warzone2100-2.0.8_rc1.mojo

I assume that something still writes to that file (or has it opened for writing).
Did you download via some kind of download manager or BitTorrent? Try closing that one or remove the file from the seed-list. Or maybe it is not yet fully downloaded?

Sidenote:
We now use MojoSetup for the Linux installer since AutoPackage was a bit problematic, especially for x86_64 systems.
The installer is a binary you have to execute from a terminal (chmod +x warzone2100-2.0.8_rc1.mojo && ./warzone2100-2.0.8_rc1.mojo), and not a shell script with a graphical menu like the AutoPackage was. It is still being built with the AutoPackage build tools (apbuild/apgcc), though.
Please tell us your (good or bad) experiences with the Warzone 2100 MojoSetup Linux installer!
A Linux user, I find Mojo fine, just fine, per se.

But I need to add this:  I could not find an UNINSTALL for the mojo I installed.  This is bad, just bad.  It is MS-style corporate insensitivity taken to the extreme.  Any "do" needs an "undo."  I know you devs know that.  I could not find a place to complain in the referenced mojo links provided.

I've written a mail to the mojosetup mailinglist, asking for advice.

Thanks!  I could tell by you guys' previous posts that you really care about this program and doing right by the users.

Addendum for info only:  warzone2100 v2.1.0 has made it into Debian Linux Unstable as 2.1.0~0.svn3330-1.  While this conflicts with the 2.0.10 .deb release found here at this site, we Unstable users are capable of handling that problem ourselves, we expect it, or we wouldn't be running Unstable!

Planned, but not yet implemented. I have a need for this in the next few
days, though, I think, so I'll hopefully do it shortly.
