Re: Units tipped
Been suffering from this "nose up" behaviour as long as I can remember. I can confirm the "at 0.3 time rate only". I can add this little detail into it; the problem is not about nose getting up, its about the nose not getting back down at the slowest speed. That is, any time the...

Re: Self-damaging VTOL?
Odd. It doesn't want to repeat today. Well, I suppose that's better anyways.

Re: Self-damaging VTOL?
I had a similar problem. Nexus SAMs followed my VTOLs, and hit them while trying to land on the pads. Are you sure there were no hoiming AA following your VTOL? So there was, but once it had actually landed, the damage was at that lesser damage level, and I watched the damage go up and down while o...

Self-damaging VTOL?
I ran into an odd behavior while playing the campaign. On Beta 7, just after landing, I use a VTOL BunkerBuster to attack an enemy sensor tower. The VTOL (Mantis body) picks up a little bit of damage from AA - maybe just barely into yellow from green - before it hits the VTOL rearming pad. While sit...

Re: Flamer Upgrade?
The current balance differences between campaign and skirmish/MP also tend to make flamers useless in campaign. In campaign, flamers have a very low fire rate. When you combine a low fire rate, very short range, and a weapon that doesn't do a huge amount of damage per shot, you have a recipe for a u...

Re: Units tipped
Yeah, it's probably why it hasn't been listed by anyone else here. I tend to play at slow speeds when there's a lot of combat going on, as I can't really manage things to my satisfaction otherwise. I can upload it into Trac if it's useful.

Re: DyDo, AI for skirmish games and challenges
That's odd too; I've been testing and playing DyDo for a while and only ever get attacked by regular MG units very early in the game, and heavy MGs show up pretty early. If it's a problem in names.txt referring a Heavy Machinegun to a regular machinegun that might make sense. DyDo 2.2 is definitely ...

Re: Units tipped
Curiouser and curiouser. It happens with both 2.3.0 and 2.3.1, and in both campaign and skirmish. However, it only seems to happen at 0.3x game speed, and I can re-level the units by momentarily changing game speed. It also only happens on my newer MacBookPro (Intel based), and not my older PPC Mac....

Another browswer/forum issue
But this time, it's a very up to date browser. In the last week or so, I've been regularly getting logged out of the forum, even after as little as 15 minutes of inactivity. I've checked the "automatically log me in each session" box; that seems to be what is not working. The thing that se...

Re: Units tipped
Oops, forgot to mention, this is 2.3.1. I didn't notice this issue when I played through that same level in 2.3.0, but it still could be a quirky one-time thing.

Re: Units tipped
I managed to use Preview to crop (while waiting for GIMP for MacOS to download) and produced the attached image. This is part of the alpha 6 map, the bridge between the two New Paradigm bases on the plateau. You can see that even though most of the units are on a relatively flat ground, they mostly ...

Units tipped
While playing the campaign again (alpha 6) last night, I noticed that my units seemed to be moving very slowly. The cause was a bit tricky to see at first, but eventually it became clear that even on flat ground, units were very prone to moving around in a "tipped up" orientation, as if th...

Re: Cyborg only matches
Impressive. Any sense for how that would play out with Needle gunners rather than Scourges? (Cheaper, tougher, and as all rounders, a bit better against structures).Daltx wrote:150 Cyborg vs Small Defense ...as I said unbalanced with just cyborgs!

Re: A few questions, silos and nuclear weapons
There are also silos in the later gamma missions (7 and 8 ). In a way, you use them to destroy Nexus's laser satellites, but it's all scripted in response to your capturing them in the first place, and to the research you do to enable their use. They are not otherwise controlled by the player. Edite...
