Update: music - untitled/work in progress
oops, it's almost been a year since my last update on this. I'm rather slow with these things, and having lots of other stuff to do does not help. well, I picked it up again some time ago, and here's the latest version. I've redone the drums, hopefully for the better, and it's an MP3 v0 vbr, length ...

Re: Other games?
O_O oh, have to look for it ... thanks :D they've been changing their website address a lot over the years, but the current one seem to be http://ufoai.sourceforge.net/ . it's got some very interesting use of the Quake 2 engine in my opinion, and some great music (though they use different music in...

UFO: Alien Invasion (open source turn based squad strategy game, inspired by the X-Com series) the Final Fantasy series (I'm currently playing through FFX and FFXII on PS2) Battlefield: Vietnam and some of my all time favourites are System Shock 2, Deus Ex and Command & Conquer (original, not Re...

Re: Mag-lev/Anti-gravity hover propulsion.
I can't remember the name of it, but isn't there a hover 'propulsion' thing using electricity to ionize the air, I think they tested it out on Mythbusters since people claimed it was anti-gravity propulsion (that it isn't, it has nothing to do with eliminating gravity and can't operate in vacuum). P...

Re: Ideas for Warzone 2100
Basically, they don't shoot because most indirect fire weapons have long reload, and you want them to still have ammo when you order them to shoot what you want them to shoot. It's annoying to tell them to shoot, but they're still reloading from attacking some insignificant bunker nearby. couldn't ...

Re: I Bow Before This Contemporary Artist's Mastery
.- I would like to visit those churches. Michelangelo faced a different set of challenges when he painted the Sistine Chapel ceiling but what a sight to behold in person...unforgettable. I can't remember the names of the churches I've seen with such paintings, but I don't think they are too uncommo...

Re: I Bow Before This Contemporary Artist's Mastery
ah, yes. of course, these things only look right from the correct angle and if you're looking with only one eye or through a camera, but still, it's very fascinating how you could use perspectives on flat pavements and such to create such illusions. And there are wonderful details in those images as...

Re: I sucesfully failed to add a WORKING playlist.
aside from that I don't think custom playlists work yet, it seems none of your songs have any file extensions? I think you'll have to write the complete file name of the song, including the extension for it to work, and also that all the songs have to be in .ogg format, to my knowledge .mp3's won't ...

2.1.1 skirmish, and I'm a terrible player so I had no idea I'd be able to pull that off.Zarel wrote:...which version? Campaign, skirmish, or multiplayer?

Re: Ideas for Warzone 2100
wow, personally I think mortars are too weak, not overpowered. they only get effective once you've researched the pepperpot, and by then you can research howitzers and ripple rockets which are a lot more effective with a much longer firing range. In a match I played I attacked a base defended by a c...

Re: keyboard glitch in 2.1.1 on ubuntu 8.10
Really? I though that a fullscreen SDL window eats all keypresses. To me it sounds more like another application (popup notification or something) forces Warzone out of fullscreen mode. I've tested the game some more, and it would appear you are right. I could play an entire match if I started out ...

Re: keyboard glitch in 2.1.1 on ubuntu 8.10
I have a computer that I now use for parts: Chipset VIA, AMD cpu, and NV add on graphic card. as soon as I installed that Graphic card there were random system hangs, freezes, and full lockups while running Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10 but I had a AMD64. And I do remember on this same computer if I hit alt...

it's an ASUS K7V motherboard, and I have Windows XP with the windows version of Warzone 2100 installed on the same computer, and the problem does not appear there.

keyboard glitch in 2.1.1 on ubuntu 8.10
I've installed warzone 2100 2.1.1 on my ubuntu 8.10 machine (512MB RAM, AMD Athlon XP 2600+, Nvidia Geforce 6200) through the .deb files at getdeb.net and noticed a strange and annoying glitch or bug. I'm not entirely sure if it's something in ubuntu or in Warzone, but I haven't encountered it elsew...
